Cyberwars Apple Linux Mint etc.

Hello again,

I haven't posted anything here in a while. It seems trivial at times to post continuously.

I have been a bit more up to date with my other tech posting page:

Since I do maintain a presence here, I thought it would be good to make a better effort at keeping things up to date.

End of boring intro. sigh..

Much has been going on and my business has been good lately.  I am thankful for opportunities to help others with their needs. It is rewarding and healthy.

The tech world has certainly been busy. I suppose the most popular subject lately has been centered around Apple and their encryption techniques.

I most certainly agree with the stance Apple has taken.  The idea of any organization, public or private, proposing to forcefully engage in altering a product that is being developed and sold to customers legally and putting their security at risk is preposterous to me. What a quandary this is. Could resources be allocated in a better way to facilitate answers? I think so.

Here are a couple links from Apple's web site in the event that you haven't already read them:

Of course there is other news out there regarding this topic. Primarily, I choose only to provide links to what Apple has stated about this.  There may be new information from them. Check their site for more details.

I keep hearing about people supporting the creation of a back-door of sorts into the iPhone. I would consider that individuals polled were either uneducated or had some other motive to support this.

Cyberwars are persisting regardless in all forms and fashion.

The very popular Linux distribution,  "Linux Mint", suffered a major hit on February 20th.  They experienced an intrusion attack. A version of the software was compromised. Their website, http://linuxmint.com/ was unavailable. It is back up and running now.

You can read more about the issue here:

There's always something happening. It's the nature of the beast.  Regardless of what software you run and what mobile device you have, keep yourself up to date.  It may prove very beneficial.

Have fun and stay safe out there.

Cheers,

RD
